[報導] Cardinals sign LHP Miller
ST.LOUIS (Ticker) - The St.Louis Cardinals on Wednesday agreed to terms with
free-agent relief pitcher Trever Miller on a one-year contract.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Miller, 35, was a member of the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays in
2008. The lefthander went 2-0 with a 4.15 ERA in 68 games appearances.
In nine seasons in the majors, Miller posted a 14-14 mark with 10 saves and a
4.43 ERA in 519 appearances. He has been a workhorse the past six seasons,
making 414 appearances - an average of 69 per season.
"Improving our bullpen - especially from the left side - is something that we
have been continually focused on," Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak.
"We feel that today's addition of Trever Miller - an experienced lefty reliever
with a proven track record - is a very good step in that direction."
Last season, Miller limited lefthanded batters to .209 batting mark,
surrendered just two home runs in 43 1/3 innings and allowed just 6-of-37
inherited runners to score, the fourth-best percentage in baseball.
