U18南區聯賽第22輪 (最後一輪),連續兩年排名第一 https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2016/02/ under-18s-report--chelsea-3-arsenal-1.html Under-18s report: Chelsea 3 Arsenal 1 Sat 13 Feb 2016 Our Under-18s were winners against Arsenal at Cobham as they sealed the Under-18 Premier League South title for the second successive season. Second-half goals from Isaac Christie-Davies, Harvey St Clair and Cole Dasilva gave us our 15thleague win of the campaign. The youngsters will now take part in an eight-team elite playoff round, playing the top four from the north section and the other top three from the south either home or away to determine the national champions. Joe Edwards made four changes from the side that beat Fulham 1-0 last weekend, with Jared Thompson, Richard Nartey, Cole Dasilva and Jacob Maddox returning to the team. Thompson came into the side between the sticks protected by a back three of Nartey, Ali Suljic and schoolboy Dujon Sterling. Ike Ugbo continued to lead the line up front supported by Maddox and Isaac Christie-Davies from central areas. Dasilva and Miro Muheim operated at right wing-back and left wing-back respectively, with Luke McCormick and captain Ruben Sammut in central midfield. In wet conditions at the Cobham training ground, the first half was largely limited in terms of chances created. Maddox fired narrowly wide after doing well to find space but the visitors had the better opportunities before the break. Aaron Eyoma fired straight at Thompson when positioned well before heading wide of the target having been found free in the box. Thompson then saved from Charlie Gilmour's long-range strike as the Gunners ended the half on top. The young Blues restarted brightly, however they were reduced to 10 men within five minutes as Maddox saw a second yellow card. The incident that saw him dismissed was largely innocuous as the midfielder challenged for a high ball and caught Tolaji Bola with a boot in the face. The referee took his time to make a decision while the defender received treatment, before deeming the challenge dangerous play and brandishing the red card. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Edwards's side were much-improved in the second period. Sterling saw a shot blocked behind and Ugbo side-footed wide before the hosts grabbed an opener after 76 minutes. Christie-Davies, impressive in midfield throughout, was upended on the edge of the box and stepped up to bend the free-kick into the top corner, leaving Phillips with no chance. Thompson saved from Eddie Nketiah before our advantage was doubled with seven minutes remaining. Substitute Harvey St Clair, who had been denied by the goalkeeper moments earlier, finished confidently at the end of a clinical counter-attack for his eighth goal of the season. Arsenal were not prepared to surrender the game lightly though and reduced the deficit instantly. Nketiah, with 13 league goals already to his name this season, added another with an impressive finish beyond Thompson via the underside of the crossbar. That may have caused panic for others in the remaining minutes, particularly considering Arsenal's man advantage, though the home side remained calm and settled the contest moments later. A superb team move saw Dasilva fashion some space down the left flank and the 16-year-old found the far corner with an expert side-foot finish. The win means Edwards's side maintain a 100 per cent winning home record this season and finish the regional section with 65 goals scored in 22 games. Their opponents in the elite playoff round will be determined in the next fortnight, with the national champions handed a place in next season's UEFA Youth League, a path the Blues may need if the first team fail to finish in the top four.
