Rudiger's landmark cap came just under eight years after his first but he was unable to celebrate it with a win or a clean sheet, as the home side equalised in the second half for a 1-1 draw in Amsterdam. Werner hit the bar with a header in the first half, Havertz having earlier had a shot saved, but the Germans went ahead moments before half-time when a ball played in towards Havertz was half-cleared by the Dutch defence, only for Thomas Muller to sweep it into the net.
