Both are right. Flutie took the snap at Miami's 48 yard line,
thus, it's a 48-yard touchdown pass. On the other hand, the ball
did travel 64 yards on air. However, usually this miracle throw is
described as a 48-yard pass.
BTW, I was trying to mention this pass helped Boston College win the
Cotton Bowl bid, not the stadium the game was held. But somehow I
didn't complete the sentence, I must be getting old :-)
