John – a former minor league soccer player in South Africa – took in the last home practice participated by the Suns before they departed for a five-game road trip. While he may have presented his son with a soccer ball for his first birthday, John says he’s certainly enjoyed watching his son pursue a career in professional basketball. “It’s been unbelievable. I was proud of him just making it in the NBA with the Suns the first time around. Then going to Dallas and being successful and coming back here where he just seems to be getting better and better has been a lot of fun to watch.” Since returning to the Suns two seasons ago, Nash has played in two NBA All-Star Games and been named the league’s MVP twice.
