[外電] BORIS BATTLES THROUGH
Starting in place of his team’s best post player, and playing on two
bad ankles against a frontcourt that went 7-foot-3, 6-10, and 6-8, would't
seem like an ideal situation for the 6-8 Diaw.
But the fifth-year pro turned in his best performance of the season Sunday,
finishing with 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
D’Antoni said Diaw’s breakout game was mostly a product of heavy minutes.
“Boris, the more he plays the better he is,” D’Antoni said, promising to
keep his minutes high. “I’m not going to lose him this year like I
did last year and like I did against the Lakers (22 minutes).That was me a
little bit and a little bit him. I thought he played great."
Diaw said his ankles nagged him throughout the game, but it wasn’t anything
he couldn’t fight through.
“Especially the second half, I was feeling (the ankles) a little more than
in the first half,” he said. “I can’t really jump or sprint.”
