The newspaper says the team has told prospective candidates that the list includes Phoenix Suns assistant Marc Iavaroni, Sonics assistant Bob Weiss ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ and at least one other candidate. The TNT says that other candidate is believed to be Michigan State coach Tom Izzo. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The newspaper says since the Sonics have said they are going to be cost conscious in hiring McMillan's replacement, that would seemingly rule out ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Flip Saunders and Doug Collins as candidates for the Seattle coaching job. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ McMillan left late Wednesday night after 19 seasons as a player, assistant coach and coach of the Sonics to become the new coach of the Portland Trail Blazers.
