Reserve forward Boris Diaw had surgery on Thursday to remove a synovial cyst
from his lumbar spine, the Spurs announced Friday.
He is expected to miss three to four weeks, a time frame that will likely
force him to miss the first round of the playoffs.
Diaw, 30, is averaging 5.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 75 games.
According to SpineUniverse.com, synovial cysts are benign, fluid-filled sacs
that develop as a result of degeneration of the joints of the lumbar spine.
