除非是靜坐練到相當的程度,念頭才能自然而然地寂滅。
但覺察到念頭,與覺察到念頭而不會困擾,這是有差別的。
覺察到粗的念頭,與覺察到細的念頭,這也是有差別的。
如果要我給一般人一個靜坐方法上的次第,我會建議如下:
先採用「用第六意識作意,專注於一的方法」,來對治粗的念頭。
再使用「不用第六意識作意,專注觀照於一的方法」,來對治細的念頭。
最後「不使用任何專注的方法」。
