Ascoli’s ban from the Stadio del Duca continues as they host high-flying
Fiorentina. The Bianconeri were banned from playing at their home ground
after crowd trouble against Sampdoria last month.

This is the second match they will play behind closed doors, this time at
Rimini's Stadio Romeo Neri, but it doesn’t seem to have harmed their
performances too much. In their previous tie under the same circumstances
they earned a draw with Champions League outfit Udinese. Fiorentina will be a
much bigger test, but a silent stadium is bound to affect both sides.

Ascoli’s injury problems are far more serious despite the return to fitness
of Fabio Quagliarella. Mirko Cudini, Corrado Colombo, Valerio Virga and Carlo
Zotti are all still out, but are now joined in the treatment room be Alfredo
Cariello and Domenico Cristiano.
